What is the past tense of the verb to squeeze?

It all started over a nice taco dinner with the family a couple weeks ago. I used a word. Someone said it wasn't a word, we debated. I forgot all about it until today. The word is the past tense of squeeze. I said squose. What do you think?

Here is what I found:

The correct past tense of the verb to squeeze is squeezed. That is according to this fun site that I found.

verb2verbe

I also found another site that has words that we have heard that might not be in the dictionary.

urban dictionary

Definition of squose: The incorrect past tense of the verb to squeeze.

Conclusion:

I was wrong. I am happy to be wrong and be able to learn something.

Just because you have heard a word, used a word and know the definition of a word, does not mean that it is a word.

  1. My opinion is that SQUOSE is correct. It's been used enough times to make it legal. Most people DO use that word... which verifies that it is indeed an actual word. i.e. Mc-job. It was used enough times that it is now an official word in the dictionary... meaning a low-paying job.
Congratulations! We have an official new word...SQUOSE! I will definitely be using it :)
